Live Line Demos Show Kids Electrical Dangers
Linemen from Wayne-White Counties Electric Cooperative take safety seriously on a daily basis. One thing they are passionate about is the safety of children around power lines and electrical equipment.
Recently, our crew had the opportunity to present the Live Line Safety Demonstration for a group of children in Kids in Motion. Students learned facts about electricity, as well as safety tips when climbing trees or getting out of your vehicle near power lines. They also saw what happens when different items or animals come into contact with live power lines.
Teachers and students alike got up to participate in the program, making it hands on and relatable to the students.
